DJ / Artist Profile
NeuralMaker
Baltimore, MD, United States
As an autism advocate and motion graphic artist, I began an unexpected journey into electronic music production during Christmas break 2021, after watching the Design Museum’s virtual exhibition, ELECTRONIC: From Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers. Its innovative spirit inspired me to produce music—a compelling, accessible art form made more approachable by modern digital audio workstations (DAWs). I chose the stage name NerualMaker, inspired by the scientific study of the autistic brain and the perspectives neurodiverse people bring to creative fields. I developed my skills through online classes, including deadmau5’s MasterClass series. While creating my debut album, *Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out*, I found my sound in Electronica, a broad genre made with samplers, synthesizers, and drum machines. Electronica’s versatility lets me create everything from energetic dance tracks to ambient pieces. I also wrote a Medium article exploring EDM’s subgenres, sounds, and moods. I’m eager to collaborate with musicians, bands, and producers while using my motion graphics experience to create album art, tour visuals, and music campaigns. Bringing music and visual art together, I look forward to contributing to electronic music.
